Asian Leaders Circle is an OPEN ERG within the Omnicom Group that is dedicated to progressing and empowering all Asian employees. Its mission is to elevate and connect Asian employees to create a professional community to support and celebrate one another. During the rise of Asian hate the Asian community was in deep need of a safe space to speak our minds, express our feelings, provide comfort to one another, and rise above the hate surrounding us all. To be given the great opportunity of building out the branding of the ALC ERG was truly an honor and I wanted the branding to be a symbol of peace, healing, and prosperity for Asian and our allies.
WORDLIST
Before starting on a project I always create a wordlist. These words could be negative or positive, but each one resonates with me and has a deep symbolic meaning that ties back into the brand. This process provides me a strong insight and understanding of what the brand will represent and stand for in the end.
COLOR SELECTION / COLOR BLINDNESS TEST
The Asian Leader Circle's primary goal is to promote and uplift an underrepresented community that has been the target of racism, hate, and violence. In the color selection process, green was select, providing a sense of healing and growth. Finally, color testing was done to ensure that viewers with color blindness will be able to see the logo and the content. The image below reveals the 5 color options along with their traits.
API RISE AGAINST HATE SUMMIT
To commemorate the one year anniversary of the Atlanta spa shootings, ALC brought together the community, our allies and esteemed API guests. Throughout that week, we unpacked rich topics of conversations, while taking necessary moments in between to pause and heal. These are some of the social media posts I created to promote and relay some deep and thoughtful quotes that were voiced in our sessions.
MORE??? YUP, THERE'S MORE.
Below are a few links that lead to additional pieces that I've worked on for the Asian Leader Circle.
