Futura is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Paul Renner and released in 1927. The use of geometric shapes to create this typeface is what makes it look so unique for a typeface of it's time. Shapes are what made Futura, so to theme the booklet after shapes and a vintage, yet refreshing color palette only seems reasonable.
The cover is titled "Renner's Futura", which reads as a play off of "Renner's Future". This is because Paul Renner's typeface "Futura" ended up becoming a vital piece of history, and is still used to this day. The simple shapes tie to the fact that Futura is a geometric sans serif, and the colors relate to a retro feeling that can give off a playful yet 1927 dated feel. Finally, the "R" contains a "1" that point to the sky (blue circle) which depicts Futura being the first typeface to be sent to the moon.
